No. 21/19 Cardinals Begin Homestand with Morehead State

Six of the next seven games will be at home for the Cardinals
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 21/19 Louisville women's basketball team (3-1, 1-0 ACC) is back at home and about to begin a long stretch of games in the city of Louisville. The Cardinals welcome two in-state foes to the Yum! Center this week, starting with Morehead State on Wednesday, November 19. The Cardinals and Eagles will square off at 8 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
The Cardinals are coming off a 65-54 win in the ACC opener against Clemson this past Sunday. Louisville improved to 11-1 in ACC openers under head coach Jeff Walz. They also improved to 153-35 in ACC games since the Cardinals joined the league in 2014-15. The 153 wins and .813 winning percentage is the best among the league over the past 12 seasons.
Laura Ziegler led the way with a team high 17 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Tigers. It was her second double-double of the season and 43rd of her career. She leads the team with 14.3 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game through the first four games. She has led the Cards in rebounding in each of the four games and has recorded double-digit rebounds in three of the four contests. She was just named to the Wooden Award Preseason Watch List earlier this afternoon.
Louisville held Clemson to 54 points on Sunday and extended its winning streak when allowing 59 points or fewer. Sunday's win was the 52-straight win when the Cardinals have held their opponent below 60 points in a game. The 52-game winning streak dates back to the 2020-21 season. Over the past 12 seasons, Louisville is 159-4 when allowing 59 points or less in a game.

Morehead State comes into the matchup with a 1-2 record on the season. They have faced two upcoming common opponents of the Cardinals in Kentucky and Bellarmine. The eagles fell in Lexington 75-59 but defeated Bellarmine 84-68 at Knights Hall. Morehead is coming off a season where they finished 10-20 overall and were 5-15 in OVC play. The Eagles were selected 10th in the 2025-26 OVC Preseason Poll. Laura Toffali and Marie Sepp were both named to the OVC Watch List prior to the season.
Series History - This will be the 30th meeting all-time between the Eagles and the Cardinals. It will be the third-straight year the two teams will face off at the Yum! Center during non-conference play. Louisville holds an 18-11 series advantage over Morehead State and they are 10-4 against the Eagles in games played in Louisville. Last Meeting (Mar. 6, 2025) - The No. 25/22 Louisville women's basketball team (3-2) had no problem finding the offense in the 107-70 win over Morehead State (1-4) Thursday night at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cards eclipsed the century mark for the first time this season and the 32nd time in program history. All 14 players that played in the game scored, the most players to score in a game this season. Imari Berry continued her strong play over the past few weeks. She led all scorers with 21 points on the night and was 8-for-12 from the field and 5-for-8 from behind the arc. The five three pointers in a game are the most by a Louisville freshman since the 2020-21 season. She has scored in double figures in three-straight games and has led the Cards in scoring in each of the last two games. Berry also tallied four assists and three rebounds on the night. Isla Juffermans had her best game of her young career when she scored a season-high 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting to go with four rebounds and one assist in over 17 minutes played. Tajianna Roberts scored in double figures for the fifth-straight game to begin her college career. She had 11 points, hit three three-pointers and had two rebounds and two assists.
