Cardinals Host Colorado in Midweek Matchup

This is the second-straight year the Cards and Buffaloes have squared off
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 22/21 Louisville women's basketball team (1-1) is gearing up for a home matchup against a Power Four conference team this week. The Cards are set to host Big 12 foe Colorado (1-0) on Wednesday, November 12 at the KFC Yum! Center. The game is set for a 7 p.m. ET tip and it will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
Louisville is coming off a win in its home-opener this past Sunday when they took down Northern Kentucky 89-61. The Cards were led by sophomore guard Tajianna Roberts, who tied a career high with 23 points for the game. It was her fifth 20-point game of her career and she was 10-for-16 from the floor. Reyna Scott provided a spark off the bench with 13 points on 6-for-8 shooting.
The Cardinals used a big run in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Norse. Louisville had a 22-0 run in the final quarter to extend its lead and put the game out of reach. The Cardinals have excelled in the fourth quarter so far this season. Through their first two games, Louisville is outscoring its opponents 59-31 in the fourth quarter.
The Cards shot 55.4% from the field in the win over Northern Kentucky, thanks to a 72.2% fourth quarter (13-for-18). The Cardinals improved to 160-3 under head coach Jeff Walz when shooting 50% or better from the floor. Last season, Louisville was 7-0 in games they shot 50% or better.

The Buffaloes are coming off a 2024-25 campaign where they went 21-13 overall and were 9-9 in Big 12 play. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship and the second round of the Women's NIT last year. For this season, Colorado was selected ninth in the 2025 Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll and Jade Masogayo was named to the 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Preseason Team. Guard Zyanna Walker began her collegiate career at Louisville and spent her two most recent seasons at Kansas State before joining the Buffaloes for this season.
Series History - This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two schools and Louisville leads the series 2-1. This is the second-straight season the teams have met after playing last season in Boulder. The Cardinals are 1-0 all-time against Colorado in games played in Louisville.
Last Meeting (Nov. 30, 2024) - The No. 24/23 Louisville women's basketball team (5-2) had a hard fought 79-71 win over Colorado (6-2) at the CU Events Center Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals faced a one-point deficit early in the fourth quarter but ripped off a 16-0 run to take control of the game. With the win, the Cardinals won their third-straight game as they head back to Louisville. The Cards had four players in double figures and were led in scoring by Jayda Curry, who had 14 points. Curry has scored in double figures in each of her three games this season after missing the first four due to injury. Tajianna Roberts scored 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting and added a season-best four steals. She has scored in double figures in six of the seven games this season.
