LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The No. 16-ranked University of Louisville football team will hit the road to face Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium.Â

Louisville and Virginia Tech are facing off for the 10th time in history and the third time in the last five years. The Hokies lead the all-time series 6-3 and are 3-0 when playing at home in Lane Stadium.Â
The Cards and Hokies last played on Nov. 4, 2023 where Louisville won 34-3 on its home field. Isaac Guerendo led the Cardinals with three touchdowns and 146 rushing yards while quarterback Jack Plummer tied the school record in completion percentage with 92% on 11 out of 12 completions.Â

UofL (6-1, 3-1 ACC} is trying to extend its winning streak on the road to four after defeating Pittsburgh and former No. 2 Miami on the road earlier this season and Kentucky in Lexington at the end of the 2024 season.Â
Running back Isaac Brown has led the offense for the Cards by rushing for 652 yards on 75 attempts, averaging 8.7 yards a carry. He was named Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week after his performance against Boston College where he rushed for a career-high 205 yards and scored a touchdown.
Louisville became bowl eligible after their 38-24 win over the Eagles on Saturday. Quarterback Miller Moss went 15-of-27 for 187 yards including one passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns.

Virginia Tech (3-5, 2-2 ACC) started off the season 0-3, which led them to make a coaching change early on. Since interim head coach Philip Montgomery has taken over, the Hokies are 3-2 including two wins in conference action.Â
VT is coming off a double overtime win over California where the Hokies defeated the Golden Bears by a score of 42-34 Friday night at Lane Stadium. Quarterback Kyron Drones completed nine of 18 passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns in the effort.Â
Junior Ayden Greene is the leading receiver for Virginia Tech with 23 receptions for 365 yards, averaging 15.9 yards a catch this season. In Friday's matchup against Cal, he scored a touchdown on the Hokies' opening drive.Â
