January 14, 2025 | Baseball
Patrick Forbes sits at No. 19 on Perfect Game’s top juniors heading into 2025.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville right-handed pitcher Patrick Forbes was ranked among the top juniors in the country for the 2025 season by Perfect Game.
The Bowling Green, Ky., native was No. 19 on Perfect Game's list of top juniors for the 2025 season, one of six ACC players in the top 20.
Forbes began his Louisville career as a two-way player in 2023, playing in 42 games. He posted a .258 average, three homers and 19 RBIs at the plate, while making 14 relief appearances on the mound.
As a sophomore last spring, Forbes made 12 appearances on the mound, including four starts. A hand injury limited the right-hander to just 29 innings, but Forbes struck out 32 and finished with a 3.72 ERA. In eight appearances after returning from injury, Forbes allowed just four runs in 17.2 innings (2.04 ERA) with 21 strikeouts and just 11 hits allowed.
Forbes took the momentum from the second half of the season into the summer, where he pitched for Brewster in the Cape Cod League and for the USA Collegiate National Team. In four starts in the Cape, Forbes struck out 22 across 13.2 innings and pitched to a 3.29 ERA. For Team USA, Forbes started the opening game of the 2024 CNT International Friendship Series against Chinese Taipei, allowing just one run over four innings with five punchouts.
Forbes is currently ranked No. 36 on Perfect Game's 2025 MLB Draft Board.
The Cardinals open the 2025 season in Arlington, Texas, at the 2025 Shriners Children's College Showdown.
