ACC Play Begins Friday Night for Cardinals

Louisville will host Notre Dame at 7 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer team opens up Atlantic Coast Conference play against last year's national runner-up Notre Dame on Friday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville made it three consecutive victories with a 3-1 win over Bellarmine on Monday. Sander Roed scored for the second straight contest, while Jack Lewis and Ethan Subachan notched their first of the season.
The Cardinals are off to a 3-0-0 start for the third consecutive season. Louisville was unbeaten through the first five matches in 2023.

Louisville is 10-13-2 all-time against Notre Dame heading into Friday's match, but has won each of the last two meetings.
The Cardinals won a thrilling 4-3 match at Notre Dame last season in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament. Sander Roed netted a hat trick in the first 52 minutes and Josh Jones scored the game-winner in the 89th minute.
FRESHMEN HELPING SOLIDIFY LOUISVILLE BACKLINE
Senior center back Josh Jones has been the anchor in Louisville's defense throughout his four-year career. However this fall, Jones is flanked by a pair of freshmen.
Noah De Blasis and Olayinka Ogunleye have each logged all 270 minutes through the first three matches this season, with the Cardinals allowing just two goals.
ROED CLOSING IN ON UOFL CAREER ASSIST RECORD
Louisville midfielder Sander Roed has been one of the best facilitators on the pitch since stepping onto campus in 2021.
The senior tallied eight assists in 2022 and nine in 2023, giving him two of the top 10 single season assist totals in program history. Roed ranked top three in the ACC in both seasons.
Following an assist in the season opener against Jacksonville, Roed now has 23 career assists, tied for second-most in Louisville history. He sits just three shy of Tim Kubel's (2014-17) program record of 26. His 23 assists and the third-most among active players in Division I.
