Bianco, Duchars, Plumb Named to NFHCA Preseason Watchlist

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's Izzy Bianco, Mia Duchars and Aimee Plumb have been named to the 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Watchlist as announced by the organization.

To be nominated for the 2024 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years with honors such as: NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster.

Bianco, a junior from Berlin, N.J., is making her second appearance on the list. The midfielder is a member of the USA Field Hockey Under-21 National Team and helped the squad to a silver medal finish at the 2024 Junior Pan American Championship over the summer.

Duchars, a fifth-year senior midfielder from St. Louis, earned NFHCA All-America and All-West Region honors in 2023 after dishing out five assists and one goal during her senior campaign. She was also an All-ACC first team pick and a two-time ACC Defensive Player of the Week last season.

This marks the third straight NFHCA Preseason Watchlist nod for Plumb, a fifth-year senior from Canterbury Kent, England. The midfielder is a two-time NFHCA All-American and All-ACC selection as well as a three-time NFHCA All-West Region honoree. She was also recently named to the Preseason All-ACC team for the third straight season. Plumb stands tied for seventh on Louisville's all-time list for career points (74) and is tied for 10^th with 26 career goals.

The Cardinals enter the 2024 campaign ranked seventh in the NFHCA Preseason Coaches' poll. They will open the season this weekend with road games at No. 4 Maryland and American University.

Bianco, Duchars and Plumb are among 171 student-athletes from 55 institutions to be named to the list which is intended to showcase those with strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. This list does not constitute a nomination or selection to the NFHCA All-Region or All-American teams.
