Eleven of Louisville’s 17 regular season opponents are ranked in the preseason top-20 with seven appearing among the top 10

The Cardinals are one of seven Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked in the top 20 – leading the nation among all Division I conferences. The league also boasts five top-10 teams with No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Virginia and No. 5 Duke as well as No. 10 Syracuse joining Louisville.

UofL's non-conference schedule also features a pair of top-five teams in top-ranked Northwestern and No. 4 Maryland along with No. 14 Ohio State and No. 15 Princeton

The Cards will be put to the test early when they open the season with a top-10 matchup at No. 4 Maryland on Friday at 6 p.m. Louisville will then travel to American University to face the Eagles at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

• UofL finished the 2023 campaign at No. 10 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA poll released on Nov. 7, marking the second straight and 10th overall week in the top 10 last season.
• The Cards have been ranked among the top 10 for 50 of the last 53 ranking periods spanning back to 2019 when they appeared at No. 8 on Sept. 10.
• Louisville has now spent 118 consecutive weeks in the top 20 in the nation dating back to the 2013 season.
