Cards and Knights Meet in Preseason Tune-Up

Louisville and Bellarmine took the field in a crosstown battle Friday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville field hockey team took the field against crosstown rival Bellarmine in both teams' first outside scrimmage of the 2024 preseason.
"It's nice to finally play somebody other than ourselves," said Justine Sowry. "We were able to practice some different things and different situations – goal up, goal down, man up, man down. We tried to get everyone in, so lots of different combinations. I'm feeling pleased overall. It was a good start today, and I think we'll get tested again on Sunday at Indiana."
Louisville will continue its preseason on Sunday when the Cardinals hit the road to face Indiana at 12 p.m.
The Cardinals will officially open the 2024 campaign next weekend with a pair of road matches, taking on Maryland Friday at 6 p.m. and American University Sunday at 1 p.m.
