Ulrich Set for Discus Qualification Round at Paris Olympics

Louisville Track & Field's first U.S. Olympian will begin competition at 2:55 p.m. ET with TV coverage available on Peacock.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville track & field athlete Jayden Ulrich will make her Olympic debut on Friday afternoon in the qualifying round of the women's discus throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The rising senior, who is currently ranked 24th in the world in the event, will begin competition as part of Group B at 2:20 p.m. ET.
Television coverage of the first day of track & field events can be found on NBC, while event-specific coverage of the women's discus will be available on Peacock.
All athletes who meet the qualification standard of 64.00m in the first round of throws or at least the top 12 performers will advance to the finals, which are set to take place on August 5 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Ulrich became the first Louisville track & field athlete in program history to earn a spot on the United States Olympic team after placing second in the women's discus throw at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in June and then qualifying based on world ranking criteria.
The native of East Alton, Ill. boasts a personal-best mark of 64.29m (210-11) that she recorded in April at the Pacific Coast Invitational to set a new school record and move into the top ten in NCAA history.
