Bianco Helps USA Field Hockey to Silver Medal at Junior Pan American Championship

The University of Louisville's Izzy Bianco helped the USA Field Hockey U21 Women's National Team to the Silver Medal at the 2024 Junior Pan American Championship which was held July 2-12 at Tamanawis Park in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. With its performance, the USA qualifies for the 2025 FIH Hockey Junior World Cup.

Bianco, a rising junior from Berlin, N.J., helped the seventh-ranked Junior Eagles earn wins over No. 23 Uruguay, No. 16 Chile and No. 39 Mexico to start the tournament with a 3-0 record before falling 3-0 to No. 2 Argentina.

The USA bounced back with a win over No. 15 Canada in the quarterfinals and outlasted Chile in the semifinals to advance to the gold medal game and a rematch with Argentina. In the final, Argentina claimed the title with a 3-1 victory, and the Junior Eagles went home with the silver.
