Etienne Donnet & Natan Rodrigues will compete in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Doubles Championship beginning May 21
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL men's tennis duo, #7 Etienne Donnet & Natan Rodrigues, are an at-large selection slated to compete in the 2024 NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles Championship in May in Stillwater, Oklahoma on the campus of Oklahoma State University, the NCAA announced Tuesday evening.
The tandem will begin in the opening Round of 32 on Tuesday, May 21 as a top-eight seed. Advancing duos play one match a day each day, advancing all the way to the championship match on Saturday, May 25.
Earning a top-eight seed in the NCAA Doubles Championship, Donnet and Rodrigues automatically earn ITA All-American status for the 2023-24 season. Rodrigues is now a two-time All-American in his three-year career at UofL; it's Donnet's first honor as an All-American. They are the third-ever Louisville doubles duo to be All-Americans. Donnet becomes the seventh All-American in the program's history between singles and doubles distinctions.
The Second Team All-ACC earners played all of their doubles matches from UofL's top spot in the lineup this season. Their recent ITA ranking of #7 ties the second-best ranking by any Cardinal duo ever, and is the best ranking for a pair of Cards since the 2017-18 season.
The tandem is the third-highest ranked ACC team in the ITA doubles rankings, behind the #1 pair from Duke and the #3 pair from Wake Forest. The league has eight teams slated to compete in the doubles championship.
Donnet and Rodrigues are 13-4 together this spring, holding a 5-2 record against nationally ranked opponents.
