Perroni Named ILWomen Midseason All-American Honorable Mention

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nicole Perroni of the University of Louisville women's lacrosse team was named an ILWomen Midseason All-American, the outlet announced Thursday.
Perroni has proven herself as one of the best midfielders in the country this season. Through the first 12 games, she has tallied 32 goals and six assists on 78 shots. She is first in the conference (fifth nationally) in caused turnovers per game with 2.73, first in the ACC (11th nationally) in free position goals per game with 1.18, and sixth in the ACC in draw controls per game with 5.09.
The graduate had a career-high 11 draw controls against Boston College, leading the team in out-drawing the Eagles 20-15. Perroni is fourth in program history with 183 career draw controls.
She has recorded at least one caused turnover in all 12 games this season with multiple in nine games. Perroni tied her career-high with five caused turnovers in the win over Liberty and recorded four each in wins over Marquette and Pittsburgh. With 94 career caused turnovers, she is on track to becoming the second in program history to record 100 caused turnovers.
Perroni scored four goals in the loss at No. 12 North Carolina and three goals in the win over No. 20 Clemson, totaling 25 career hat-tricks. She tallied three goals in the loss over No. 3 Boston College and had four goals each in the win at Pitt, against Virginia Tech, in the win over Marquette and against Colorado. Earlier this season, Perroni tallied her 100th career goal and broke the point-scoring streak record of 43 straight games.
Playing 64 games in her career, the midfielder is currently on a program-high 48 game goal-scoring and point-scoring streak. Her goal-scoring streak is the longest active streak in the ACC.
