Louisville moves to 4-2
The Cardinals won the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 2. The pair of Jamilah Snells and Lillian Mould recorded a 6-2 win over Furman's Jess Dawson and Maeve Thornton on Court 1, and the pair of Allie Gretkowski and Lika Peresypkina tallied their win by the same score on Court 2 over Sara Snyder and Grace Thomas.
Louisville carried their momentum into singles with Gretkowski putting the Cards up 2-1 as she won on Court 5 6-4, 6-2 over Macy Hitchcock. Peresypkina (7-6, 6-2 over Ellie Schulson) and Germany Davis (6-2, 7-5 over Grace Thomas) followed close behind, both prevailing on Courts 3 and 4, respectively, with Davis being the clinching point for the Cardinals. Snells finished soon after, winning a three-set thriller on Court 1 by the score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 over Sara Snyder and putting the Cards up 5-1. In the final match of the afternoon, Berta Miret fell to Marissa Pennings 3-6, 6-2, 11-9 in an exciting finish to the afternoon.
The Cardinals now turn their attention to Friday, February 16, when they take on the Bellarmine Knights. The match is set for 4 p.m. inside the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
