
Distance Runners Set to Open Indoor Season at Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener

The Cards will travel six distance runners to compete on Dec. 7 in Boston.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams are set to begin the 2024-25 indoor season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Dec. 7 in Boston, Mass.
The Cards will field six distance runners at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center with action beginning for Louisville athletes at 2:05 p.m. ET when the women's 3000m gets underway.
Louisville athletes will also contest the women's 5000m with sections beginning at 4:10 p.m. ET and the men's 5000m which will begin at 6:15 p.m. ET.
Geoffrey Kirwa will make his indoor debut for the Cardinals in the men's 5000m after a successful freshman cross country season that saw him become the first Louisville male to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships since 2016.
On the women's side, Layla Roebke will also make her indoor debut for the Cards in the women's 5000m after redshirting both track seasons last year. During her two cross country seasons in a Louisville uniform, the senior scored for the team in all nine meets she competed in, leading the Cardinals through the line in four of them.
