Louisville Looks to Continue Momentum After Comeback Win
October 28, 2024 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jeff Brohm and the University of Louisville football team will look to stay in the winning column as they travel to Clemson on Saturday.
The Cardinals rallied from a 20-point deficit on the road to secure a hard-fought 31-27 victory over Boston College, marking Louisville's fourth-largest comeback in program history.
"I was very proud of the football team and the coaches. We could have lost our confidence, got down on ourselves and not played as hard in the second half but we did not."
This resilience highlights the toughness and grit of the Cardinals. They proved they can overcome adversity and fight back.
"Like I said, as far as wins, that was one I was very, very proud of our football team, because they hung in there and it wasn't easy."
As the Cardinals prepare for a challenging match up against Clemson, Brohm underscored the importance of maintaining their momentum. He acknowledged that the team's recent success is important but emphasized the necessity for continued improvement in key areas.
"We've shown that we can fight back and win tough games, but we need to be consistent in our execution moving forward. Every game presents a new challenge, and we have to focus on the fundamentals to give ourselves the best chance to win."
One of the challenge's this Saturday will be slowing down junior quarterback Cade Klubnik. In his seven games this season, Klubnik has thrown for 1,836 yards, 20 touchdowns, and only three interceptions.
"He's playing at a high level. They've built the offense around him and what his strengths are, and right now it's clicking on all cylinders. Once again, we have to stop a good quarterback. We've got to find ways to be better than we have and find ways to limit big plays and make them earn it."
In their last match up against Clemson in 2022, the Cardinals fell short, losing 31-24 despite a strong start. Louisville is eager to secure its first win against Clemson in program history.
