Brion Stephens Tabbed USATF U20 Boys Athlete of the Year

The sophomore won the USATF U20 championship in the men’s high jump last July.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's track & field athlete Brion Stephens has been named the USA Track & Field U20 Boys Athlete of the Year for the 2023 season.
Stephens won the USATF U20 national championship in the men's high jump at historic Hayward Field in July, clearing a height of 2.15m (7-0.5) to claim first place and become the third Louisville student athlete in school history to win an event at the USATF U20 Championships.
The victory also punched Stephens' ticket to the PanAm U20 Championships in August, where he finished as the runner-up in the same event after recording a final mark of 2.17m (7-1.5).
The sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind. also had a standout 2023 season in a Louisville uniform, setting both the indoor and outdoor freshman records in the men's high jump with personal-bests of 2.21m (7-3) indoors and 2.22m (7-3.25) outdoors.
