September 08, 2023 | Men's Golf
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team will kick off the 2023-24 campaign at the Valero Texas Collegiate on Saturday morning on the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament tees off Saturday as teams will play one round daily in the traditional five-count-four format, with a champion crowned on Monday afternoon.
The 12-team tournament is highlighted by the No. 10/7-ranked Sooners and No. 3/2 Vanderbilt, along with nine other teams that made an NCAA Regional last season. The individual winner will receive an exemption into the 2024 Valero Texas Open on the PGA Tour.
The Cardinals are coming off a third-straight regional appearance and return a pair of starters from that unit.
Entering his final season with the Cardinals, Max Kennedy will be the team's top returner after a successful season that saw him post seven top-10 finishes and finish with the fifth-best single-season stroke average.
Sebastian Moss will play the top position after recording a 71.72 stroke average recorded five top-10 finishes last season. Easton Johnson, who won the Jack Nickalus Award at Master's University and Clay Pendergrass will make their UofL debuts. Andrew Tan will play in the fourth spot and Jackson Brimfield will compete as an individual.
