September 05, 2023 | Field Hockey
Freshman Tyler Everslage helped the Cardinals to a pair of wins last weekend, tallying a goal in each game
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Louisville's Tyler Everslage was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Â
The Louisville native registered a goal in each of the Cardinals' wins over the weekend to help the Cardinals extend their win streak to four games. In Friday's 2-1 victory over then-No. 10 Princeton, she broke a 1-1 tie when she connected on her first collegiate goal – and game-winner - in the opening minute of the second quarter. The freshman forward added her second goal of the season in Sunday's 2-1 win against Penn. Shortly after the Quakers took a 1-0 lead, Everslage tallied an unassisted goal to even the score in the closing minutes of the third quarter.Â
The Cardinals (4-0), who moved up four spots to No. 5 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association rankings, will return to action this weekend when No. 18 Ohio State visits Trager Stadium for a 6 p.m. matchup on Friday and the Cards play host to VCU Sunday at 12 p.m.
