Cards To Play in the Fighting Irish Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of men's golf team begins the month of October with the Fighting Irish Classic at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend. The 14-team event will be played from Oct. 1-2. The teams will play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 during the round round of action.
The Cardinals will once again compete in a difficult field as six teams were included in the first edition of the top-60 of the GolfWeek team standings released on Sept. 29, headlined by No. 5 Tennessee. Purdue (No. 26), Louisville (49), Northwestern (53), and Notre Dame (57) round out the top-60. Indiana ranks 55th in the poll.
Louisville is coming off consecutive second-place finishes at the Bearcat Invitational and the Rod Meyers Invitationa. Led by Sebastian Moss, the junior became the first player in school history to win consecutive tournament championships. He shot an 11-under-par to win the Rod Myers, shooting a second-round score of 64, the lowest round of the tournament and second-lowest score in tournament history.
At the Rod Myers, Max Kennedy tied for eighth overall by shooting a 2-under-par 214, despite closing with a final round score of 74.
Clay Pendergrass posted his first top-20 finish by closing the tournament in a tie for 18th by shooting a 2-over-par 218. Playing as an individual, Cooper Claycomb tied for 26th place by carding a 5-over-par 221.
