
Stephens Takes Second in High Jump at PanAm U20 Championships

MAYAGUEZ, P.R. – University of Louisville track and field athlete Brion Stephens finished as the runner-up in the men's high jump at the Pan American U20 Championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on Sunday morning.
The sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind. cleared a height of 2.17m (7-1.5) to place second to teammate Grant Campbell as Team USA took the top two spots in the event.
After passing on the first three heights of the competition, Stephens advanced through the next three bars on his first attempt before clearing his final mark of 2.17m at his final attempt at the height.
Over the course of the three-day event, Team USA earned a total of 61 medals, the most out of the 25 countries represented at the competition.
