Brion Stephens Set for Pan Am U20 Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville track and field athlete Brion Stephens will compete for Team USA at the Pan American U20 Championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico this weekend.
The rising sophomore will compete in the men's high jump on Sunday, August 6 with the competition getting underway at 9:05 a.m. ET from Jose A. Figueroa Freire Stadium.

Stephens, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., earned his spot on the national team after clearing a height of 2.15m (7-0.5) to win the USATF U20 national title in the event at the USATF U20 Championships on July 8 in Eugene, Ore.
During his freshman campaign for the Cardinals, Stephens captured a pair of ACC silver medals in the men's high jump at the indoor and outdoor conference championships while also setting both indoor and outdoor freshman records in the event, including an outdoor personal-best clearance of 2.22m (7-3.25).
