EUGENE, Ore. – The 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships concluded on Sunday evening after a solid showing from a contingent of current and former members of the University of Louisville track and field program.
Cameron Miller qualified for the national finals in the men's 200m in his first career appearance at the USATF Outdoor Championships, placing eighth. He advanced to the finals after setting a new personal-best of 20.13 that stood as the third-fastest time in the preliminaries before earning the top time qualifier in the semifinals with a time of 20.17.
A pair of Louisville alumni in Gabriela Leon and Sterling Warner-Savage also capped off their trips to the national meet, solidifying their places as some of the country's best.
Leon, a 2022 graduate competing professionally for Puma, cleared a bar of 4.36m (14-3.5) to tie for eighth in the women's pole vault. Warner-Savage posted a 16th-place finish in the men's 100m, advancing out of the first round with a preliminary time of 10.22 before clocking 10.28 in the semifinals.
