Jorge Contreras Nazario Set to Represent Puerto Rico at NACAC U23 Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville track and field athlete Jorge Contreras Nazario will represent his home country of Puerto Rico at the NACAC U23 Championships set to take place from July 21-23 at San Jose National Stadium in Costa Rica.
The native of Caguas, Puerto Rico will compete in the U23 men's shot put on Friday afternoon at 7:15 p.m. ET.
The redshirt senior entering his fourth year competing with the Cardinals recently concluded a season that saw him take sixth place on his way to earning second team All-ACC honors at the ACC Indoor Championships.
Contreras Nazario has had plenty of previous success in the Puerto Rico uniform recently, winning the FAPUR national championship in the men's shot put last June and being selected to represent the nation in the 2022 NACAC Championships last August, where he placed ninth in the same event.
