UofL softball graduate Taylor Roby to continue her career professionally with the USSSA Pride
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's Taylor Roby will continue her softball career with the USSSA Pride as announced by the organization Sunday

USSSA Pride is based out of Viera, Fla., residing at the USSSA Space Coast Complex. The team is a member of the Women's Professional Fastpitch league (WPF), the official professional softball league in the United States, founded by USA Softball, USSSA, and Smash It Sports. The Pride will open play on June 15, starting with a three-game series at the Texas Smoke. The team's 36-game regular season slate will conclude on with a three-game series at the SIS Vipers August 5-7. View the complete schedule here.

Roby recently completed as a five-year starter for the Cardinals (2019-23) as a pitcher and designated player. One of the program's most highly-decorated student-athletes, the Mt. Washington, Ky. is a 2023 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second Team All-America selection and a three-time NFCA All-Southeast Region and All-ACC honoree.

In 2023, she helped lead the Cardinals to an NCAA Regional appearance, a 36-20 overall record and a fourth-place finish in the ACC. She finished the 2023 campaign with a .360 batting average and led the ACC with a school record 23 home runs while standing tied for second in the NCAA in that category.

In her final season, Roby produced a career and league-best 57 RBIs and paced the team with an .835 slugging percentage and 33 Âwalks. Along with her single season home run record, Roby also owns UofL's overall mark at 63 and stands third on the ACC's list for career home runs and seventh on the NCAA active career leaders list. In addition to her offensive numbers, she led the Cards with a 2.47 ERA with 10 wins in the circle.

Throughout her time at UofL, Roby posted a .312 career batting average with 63 home runs, 184 RBIs and 102 runs scored. In the circle, the RHP amassed 56 wins and eight saves with 360 strikeouts in 639.2 inning of work. She finishes her storied career ranked among the top 10 in Louisville's career pitching leaders in appearances, starts, strikeouts, wins, innings pitched and saves and stands second with 184 career RBIs and 116 walks and third in career total bases (425).
