Zabala Set to Play in Florida Gulf Coast League

Alyssa Zabala will play for the Manatee Impact in the Florida Gulf Coast League this summer
LOUISVILLE, Ky. –University of Louisville softball pitcher Alyssa Zabala is set to compete in the Florida Gulf Coast League as a member of the Manatee Impact.

Zabala, who hails from Miami, Fla., recently completed an impressive rookie campaign with the Cardinals. The right-handed pitcher posted a team-best 14 wins and led Louisville's pitching staff with 94 strikeouts in 121 innings of work. The All-ACC third team and all-freshmen team honoree helped lead the Cards to a 36-20 overall record and an NCAA regional appearance.

Zabala and the Manatee Impact will open play on Thursday, June 15 against the Bradenton Slice.

The Florida Gulf Coast League is the first pioneer and premier summer collegiate softball organization. The FGCL will feature a 25-game schedule, complete with an all-star event and playoff. The collegiate league will made up of collegiate athletes from all over the United States, covering all divisions and conferences of collegiate NCAA softball. For more information visit here.
