
Three Cardinals Earn D1Softball Honors

Roby and Otis named to second team, Gordon named to freshman team
The University of Louisville softball team placed three on the D1Softball All-America teams. Taylor Roby and Korbe Otis earned second team honors while Sarah Gordon was named to the inaugural All-American Freshman Team.

Roby, a graduate senior from Mt. Washington, Ky., takes home her most recent accolade following an impressive career. The right-handed pitcher/designated player turned in a career-best season in 2023, leading the ACC and standing tied for second in the nation with a school record 23 home runs while tallying a career and league-best 57 RBIs. The three-time NFCA All-Southeast Region and All-ACC honoree carried a .360 batting average and paced the team with an .835 slugging percentage and 33 Âwalks. Â
• Along with her single season home run record, Roby also owns UofL's overall mark at 63 and stands seventh on the NCAA active career leaders list. Â
• In addition to her offensive numbers, the two-way player also led the team with a 2.47 ERA with 10 wins in the circle.
Gordon, the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year, finished the season with a .379 batting average, 12 doubles, 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. The catcher from Lexington, S.C. was a 2023 All-ACC first team and All-Freshmen team selection and was named to the TUCCI/NFCA National Freshman of the Year Top 25 List.
Otis (Littleton, Colo.) led the Cardinals with a .414 batting average and closed her sophomore campaign atop the ACC leaders with 63 runs scored and seven triples. The centerfielder earned NFCA All-Southeast Region third team honors and was an All-ACC first team selection.

The University of Louisville softball team finished the season with a 36-20 and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, marking the program's 15th NCAA tournament appearance and first since 2019. The Cardinals also finished fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference after posting 16-7 record in league play. Â Â
