
Cardinals Ready to Compete at Joe Walker Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field teams hit the road once again as they travel to Oxford, Miss. for the Joe Walker Invitational hosted by Ole Miss on Apr. 7-8.
Competition will begin on Friday morning with the onset of the men's field events with the hammer throw, javelin throw, and pole vault at 11:30 a.m. ET with the running events beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET with the men's 200m.
The Cardinals will field 28 athletes on the weekend with the distance, pole vault, and throws event groups making up the majority of those represented.
Aliyah Welter will highlight the women's pole vault after clearing a height of 4.25m (13-11.25) to take seventh in the elite section at the Texas Relays, while Adar Sheere will make his season debut in the men's discus throw after qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the event last season for the third time in his career.
On the track, Katie Martin will make her first appearances at the women's 200m and 400m distances this outdoor season, while Ryan Farrell will toe the line in the men's 800m after recording a time of 1:51.11 a week ago at the Stanford Invitational.
