
Kaczmarczyk, Kouijzer, Tremonti to Return for 2023 Season

2022 seniors Emilia Kaczmarczyk, Julie Kouijzer and Minna Tremonti will return to play for the Cardinals in 2023
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville field hockey student-athletes Emilia Kaczmarczyk, Julie Kouijzer and Minna Tremonti have elected to return to the team for their NCAA-granted fifth season. Â

Kaczmarczyk is a four-year starter who has played in every game in her time with the Cardinals, earning National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-West Region honors in 2022.
The midfielder from Melton Mowbray, England has registered five career goals coming against Penn, Miami, Michigan, Wake Forest and Duke to go along with six assists for a total of 16 points. On Friday night, her shootout goal sealed Louisville's win against No. 24 Duke.
Kouijzer (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) served as a co-captain came to Louisville last season. In her time at Louisville, the defender helped key her team to 23 shutouts. She has been an integral part of the Cardinals' penalty corner attack, tallying 12 goals and 11 assists to go along with her five defensive saves over the last four years. The two-time NFHCA All-America and All-ACC selection also earned a trio of NFHCA All-West Region honors ACC All-tournament team honoree and has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week five times in her career.
Tremonti (Ann Arbor, Michigan) has been in the starting lineup in each of her four seasons at UofL. She delivered her first career goal against Longwood in 2019 and dished out assists against Michigan and Duke in 2020. The midfielder was named to the USA Field Hockey Under 21 team in 2020.

The UofL field hockey team registered a 12-8 overall record after earning its fourth-straight NCAA tournament bid. The Cardinals were ranked No. 12 in the final NFHCA Coaches Poll after spending the entire season in the top 15 and reaching as high as No. 4 in the 2022 campaign. Following the season, Julie Kouijzer and Aimee Plumb earned NFHCA All-America honors, marking the eighth straight year the Cardinals have placed at least two players on the All-America teams, a streak which dates back to the 2015 season.
