
Kallenberg Sits Third in Decathlon After First Day of Bryan Clay Invitational

The sophomore earned new personal bests in all five of Thursday’s events.
AZUSA, Calif. – After the first five events of the decathlon, Paul Kallenberg sits in third place in the event out of nearly 40 competitors after the first day of action at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
The sophomore tallied 4,029 points on Thursday, powered by personal-best performances in all five events, including a time of 48.92 in the 400m that stood third in the field. He also recorded top-ten finishes in the shot put, long jump, and high jump to finish the first day on the podium.
Kallenberg will resume the decathlon tomorrow afternoon with the 110m hurdles kicking things off at 5:00 p.m. ET. while the Tom Jones Memorial in Florida begins tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. ET with the women's long jump.
The Cardinals will also kick off their first home meet of the season at 1:00 p.m. ET tomorrow afternoon at the Jim Freeman Louisville Invitational with the men's hammer throw, with the gates to Cardinal Park opening to the public at noon.
Admission to the event is free with parking provided for a $5 fee at the Floyd Street Parking Garage directly across the street from the facility.
