Cardinals Fall at No. 9 Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 9 Vanderbilt Friday evening in Nashville.

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point when Sasha Gorchanyuk and Rhea Verma fell 6-1 at No. 3 to the No. 55-ranked Vandy doubles pair of Celia-Belle Mohr and Anessa Lee. Andrea Di Palma and Tatiana Simova then dropped the No. 1 match 6-3. Jamilah Snells and Cici Xin outlasted Bridget Stammel and Amy Stevens to win 7-5 at No. 2.

Down 1-0 going into singles, the Cards earned their only point when Tyra Richardson beat Dasha Kourkina 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 6 singles spot.

The Cardinals are back in action on Sunday when they host James Madison at 11 a.m. in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
