
Cards Wrap Up Day One of the Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Louisville track and field team wrapped up the first day of competition at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational Friday night.
Leading the way for the Cardinals was Jeremiah Willis who secured victory in the men's long jump with a leap of 7.52m (24-8.25) for the Cardinals' only event victory on the evening and his first of the season.
Freshman Tiriah Kelley sped to a second-place finish in the women's 200m dash, clocking a time of 24.04 that currently stands as the fourth-fastest time in school history. Soledad Jean also earned a runner-up finish, notching a mark of 1.71m (5-7.25) in the high jump as the women's field events continued to produce solid performances for the Cardinals. Ariel Lawrence placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.80m (19-0.5) and Claire Bushur took fifth place in the shot put with a heave of 14.45m (47-5).
On the men's side, Ty McPhail cleared a height of 4.93m (16-2) to finish fourth in the pole vault while Isiah Pantiere clocked a time of 21.75 for a fifth-place finish in the 200m dash.
Jourdin Edwards advanced to tomorrow's semifinals in the women's 60m hurdles, setting a new personal-best mark of 8.75. Two more Cardinals advanced to the semifinal round as Kiyah Yeast and Olivia Jenkins moved on in the women's 60m dash.
Nolan Macklin will enter competition tomorrow in the semifinals for the men's 60m dash, while Yeast and Jenkins will be joined by Taylor Herbert in the semifinals in the women's 60m dash.
Competition will resume tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. with the men's 3000m run, with the event livestream beginning at 2 p.m on ACCNX for the women's 60m hurdles finals.
