Men’s Track & Field Ranked No. 13 in USTFCCCA National Team Rankings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's track and field team holds at 13th nationally in the sixth installment of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor Track and Field National Rating Index, coming in with a point total of 62.32.
The Cardinals have been ranked inside the top 20 in all six national polls this season and have been included among the top 15 teams in the nation for the last five weeks.
Last weekend's ACC Championships saw the Louisville men achieve their highest team finish at the event since joining the conference prior to the 2014-15 indoor season, finishing fourth overall with a total of 68.5 points.
Two Cardinals were crowned ACC champions over the weekend, as Trey Allen won the high jump with a clearance of 2.21m (7-3) and Cameron Miller ran a time of 20.27 in the 200m that stands as a personal record, school record, facility record, and ACC Indoor Championships meet record.
Paul Kallenberg also set a new Louisville record, totaling 5,797 points in the heptathlon to finish as the runner-up in the event. Brion Stephens earned a silver medal as well, also clearing 2.21m (7-3) in the high jump to join Allen on the podium. In the 5000m, Ian Kibiwot cruised to a personal-best time of 13:52.74 to place third and round out the first team All-ACC honorees for the Louisville men's squad.
Four more Cardinals earned second team All-ACC distinction as Sterling Warner-Savage took fourth in the 60m, Bryan Hudson captured fifth in the shot put while Jorge Contreras Nazario finished sixth, and Nolan Macklin claimed sixth in the 200m.
Louisville finished out the weekend with yet another record-breaking performance as the foursome of Noah Carmichael, Miller, Robert Joseph, and Isiah Pantiere clocked a time of 3:07.79 to set a new program best and take second place in the 4x400m relay.
Louisville athletes who boast top-16 marks in the nation will be selected to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Mar. 10-11 in Albuquerque, N.M. The list of national participants will be announced tomorrow morning.
