Men’s Track & Field Ranked No. 13 in USTFCCCA National Team Rankings
February 20, 2023 | Track & Field
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's track and field team moves to 13th nationally in the fifth installment of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor Track and Field National Rating Index, coming in with a point total of 62.28.
The Cardinals have been nationally ranked in all five editions of the poll this season, marking the first time in program history the men's indoor squad has been ranked in five consecutive polls.
Heading into the ACC Indoor Championships this weekend, the Louisville men boast five athletes projected to earn First-Team All-Conference honors in their respective events led by two athletes who hold the top marks in their event heading into the weekend.
Cameron Miller enters the competition with a 200m time of 20.33 that leads the conference and stands second nationally. The transfer from Florida has broken the school record in the event three times this season and also reset the record in the 300m as well.
In the field, Trey Allen's school record-breaking clearance of 2.27m (7-5.25) in the high jump at the Commonwealth College Opener has stood as the top mark in the conference and the country since Dec. 3 as he looks to build off his third-place finish at the ACC Championships a year ago.
Paul Kallenberg (heptathlon), Brion Stephens (high jump), and Sterling Warner-Savage (60m) all currently hold the second-best marks in the conference for their respective events.
After a week off from competition, the Cardinals will return to action when they host the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships for the first time in school history, with competition scheduled to take place from Feb. 23-25 at the Norton Sports & Learning Center.
