
Clemson Visits Saturday as Cardinals Honor 2013 Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville men's basketball hosts Clemson and honors the 10th anniversary of its historic 2012-13 team at 7 p.m. ET Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center. The 2013 squad will be recognized at halftime with video tributes throughout the first half.

The Cardinals nearly pulled the upset of No. 7/6 Virginia in a 61-58 home loss Wednesday. Clemson broke a three-game losing streak Wednesday with a 94-54 blowout win at home over Florida State.

Louisville leads the all-time series 8-5, with Clemson taking this year's first matchup 83-70 in South Carolina on Jan. 11. The Cardinals are a perfect 7-0 all-time at home against the Tigers.

• Players from the 2012-13 Louisville team that won the national championship that was later vacated who are expected to attend Saturday include Mike Baffour, Logan Baumann, Jordan Bond, Wayne Blackshear, 2013 Final Four Most Outstanding Player Luke Hancock, Montrezl Harrell, Tim Henderson, Mike Marra, Zach Price, Peyton Siva, Stephan Van Treese and Kevin Ware. Louisville men's basketball fought back again from a double-digit deficit in the second half, but couldn't get over the hump in an 83-70 loss at Clemson.

The Cardinals trailed by as much as 17 early in the second half, then climbed back within six on multiple occasions in the final minutes.

Clemson stayed on top by shooting 52.8% from the field and making 19 of 23 free throws.

Hunter Tyson had 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead Clemson, which scored 18 points off Louisville's 15 turnovers.

Mike James paced Louisville with 17 points and five rebounds, while El Ellis added 12 points and five assists. Sydney Curry chipped in 10 points and six boards, and JJ Traynor provided nine points and five rebounds off the bench.

James is the first Louisville freshman to score at least 17 in three straight games since DeJuan Wheat in 1993-94.
