Miller Dominates 200m to Close Tiger Paw Invite
February 11, 2023 | Track & Field
CLEMSON, S.C. – Cameron Miller continued his unprecedented stretch of success in the 200m dash, setting a new school record in the event for the third time this season as the University of Louisville track and field teams finished competition at the Tiger Paw Invite Saturday afternoon.
On the weekend, the Cardinals earned three event victories and saw seven athletes earn lifetime-best marks.
Miller's time of 20.33 gave him an event victory in a highly competitive field that featured seven athletes who boasted top-16 times in the 200m entering the weekend. The performance also stands as a new facility record at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex and places Miller second nationally in the event this season.
Paul Kallenberg also earned first place in the men's unseeded pole vault to kick off the second day of competition, crushing his previous personal-best with a mark of 5.07m (16-7.5) that puts him at ninth on the all-time leaderboard.
Trey Allen returned to action in the men's high jump and claimed a runner-up finish with a clearance of 2.25m (7-4.5), the second-best performance of his career. Luke Nichols joined Allen in the top-five finishers, clearing 2.11m (6-11) to place fourth.
Next weekend will take the Cardinals back to South Bend, Ind. for Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitational on Feb. 18 before the team begins preparation for postseason competition.
