Cards Finish Louisville First Chance Meet

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville swimming and diving team completed the last day of the Cardinal First Chance Invitational Friday evening swimming with the Illini of Illinois.
Louisville's Ryan Hogan swam in the 400 IM, posting a 3:56.00 this evening.
In the 200 freestyle, Illinois' Meghan Niziolek finished first with a 1:52.96. Sophia Burwitz of the Illini touched in 56.21 in the 100 butterfly.
Louisville's Adry Kasemets posted a 2:22.06 in the 200 breaststroke and Krista Wheeler recorded a 55.49 in the 100 backstroke.
Illinois' Sophia Burwitz finished with a 24.35 in the women's 50 freestyle. Louisville's Owen Taylor touched in 20.47 for the men's 50 freestyle.
John Bossler of the Cards swam the 1650 freestyle this evening, finishing with a time of 15:28.58.
In diving, the Cardinals competed against the University of Cincinnati. Cincinnati's Will Claus placed first in the platform diving with a score of 341.25.
Logan Smith posted a 303.60 in the 1-meter board, qualifying for Zones. Grace Leonard also qualified for Zones in the 1-meter board, scoring 282.30.
In the 3-meter board, Louisville's Che Stephens placed first with a score of 364.28 while Adam Sneden place second (349.20). Jiselle Miller won the women's 3-meter board, scoring 319.20 and Else Prassternik came second (318.83).

In the 400 IM, Louisville's Ryan Hogan touched first with a time of 3:56.56 and John Bossler finished with a 3:57.31. For the women, Illinois' Meghan Niziolek finished with a 4:34.38.
Illinois' had three swimmers in the women's 200 freestyle with Anna Kurzydlo posting a first-place time of 1:53.53.
In the men's 100 butterfly, Louisville's Owen Taylor finished with a 47.90. For the women, Illinois' Sophia Burwitz posted a 56.71.
Adry Kasemets of Louisville posted a 2:24.66 in the 200 breastroke. In the 100 backstroke, Krista Wheeler posted an exhibition time of 1:06.37 and Illinois' Suvana Baskar posted a 55.43.
Illinois' Sophia Burwitz touched first with a 24.31 in the 50 freestyle and Louisville's Krista Wheeler posted a 24.66. Owen Taylor touched in 20.35 and Robert Ehrenborg posted a 20.78 in the men's 50 freestyle.
There was one time trial event Friday morning with Illinois' Anna Kurzydlo posting a 52.59 in the 100 freestyle.
