Cards Honor 2023 Season at Annual Banquet

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team celebrated their 2023 season at their annual banquet last month, honoring players' accomplishments and milestones.
The Cardinals finished the season at 5-12 overall with key victories over No. 25 Colorado, Duke, and Pittsburgh.
Six Cards were honored at the event for their performances last season.
Negai Nakazawa was named Rookie of the Year after being named to the 2023 ACC All-Freshman team and finishing the season with 16 goals, 21 points, 25 ground balls, and 20 draw controls. She was third on the team in draw controls and fourth on the team in points, assists (5), ground balls, and caused turnovers (10).
Nicole Perroni earned Offensive Player of the Year for the Cards after a stellar senior year where she was named to the All-ACC Second Team with a team-high 45 points, 37 goals, 68 shots on goal, and 29 caused turnovers. Perroni tallied seven hat tricks and had ten games with multiple goals in 2023.
Goalkeeper Sara Addeche was named the Defensive Player of the Year after recording 153 saves and moving up to third all-time in single-season saves. Addeche had six games with 10 or more saves and broke the program record for saves in a game with 18 against Notre Dame on April 20.
Marissa Zeno and Maggie Foster were honored with the Iron Cardinal award, Hannah Morris won the Legacy Award, and Maggie Foster took home the Integrity Award.
The Cards also honored five jerseys at the event – No. 2 Alexa Steffens, No. 4 Hannah Morris, No. 22 Maggie Foster, No. 25 Izzy Holmes, No. 26 Rachel Lifson.
