LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's golfer Sebastian Moss was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Golfer of the Month for September, the league announced Wednesday.Â
Moss rewrote history by becoming the first ever Louisville men's golfer to win back-to-back tournaments last month.
Moss led his team to a runner-up finish at the Bearcat Invitational, setting a new career-low score of 12-under-par 201. He carded three sub-70 rounds (67-69-65), marking the first time in his career that he has scored in the 60s for all three rounds of a tournament. Moss had 14 birdies throughout the tournament and ended with a bogey-free final round of 6-under-par 65.
Â
At the Rod Myers Invitational, Moss led his team to another runner-up finish. Moss's second-round score of 8-under-par 64 marked a new single-round career-low. After shooting a 1-over-par score of 73 in the first round, Moss went on to shoot 12-under-par for the next two rounds. He had nine birdies in the second round alone and combined for 23 birdies total throughout the tournament. Moss was 4-under-par 68 in the final round of the tournament, which secured his place at the top of the leader board. Overall, the junior carded an 11-under-par 205 to win by three strokes.
In his last two wins, Moss has combined to shoot 23-under-par. Through the first three tournaments of the season, Moss is averaging a single-round score of 69.7.Â
The last time a Louisville men's golfer won this award was in 2021 when Jiri Zuska took home honors for the month of October.Â
The Cards will return to action on Oct. 9-10 at the Williams Cup, hosted by North Carolina, for their last team tournament of the fall season.Â
