Cardinals Continue Fall Season at Indiana

Louisville will travel to Bloomington for a Friday doubleheader
LOUISVILLE Ky. - The University of Louisville softball team will continue its fall season Friday evening as they hit the road to face Indiana in a doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m.

In their most recent fall action, the Cardinals hosted Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 1 and took both games of the doubleheader. On the day, Louisville scored 11 runs with 10 players recording hits. Riley Frizell paced the offense with a home run and four RBIs. Six pitchers saw time in the circle with Alyssa Zabala and Izzy Harrison leading the way with five punchouts a piece.Â

Scouting the HoosiersÂ
Indiana is coming off a 44-18 season, including an 18-5 record in Big Ten play.Â
• The Hoosiers reached the Knoxville Regional final last season before losing to host Tennessee.
Louisville and Indiana have battled many times over the years with the Cards holding a 20-6 lead all-time.Â
• Indiana returns two key players in Brianna Copeland and Taylor Minnick, both earning postseason All-American honors last season.Â

Following Friday's action, the Cardinals will return home to close out the fall season as they play host to Miami (OH) on October 29 with the action slated to begin at 1 p.m. at Ulmer Stadium. The event is free and open to the public.

The Cardinals are coming off of a successful 2023 campaign in which they posted a 36-20 overall record and a 16-7 ACC mark in the 2023 season. The 16 ACC wins were also tied for the most in since joining the league in 2015.
