
Louisville Track & Field Takes Part in Spring Semester Media Day

University of Louisville track and field head coach Dale Cowper along with Trey Allen, Synclair Savage, Sterling Warner-Savage and Aliyah Welter met with the local media as part of Louisville's annual spring semester media day.

QUICK HITS
• The UofL track & field program hosted the Cardinal Classic last weekend and continued its early season success, winning seven events and recorded 22 personal records.
• The Cardinals opened the indoor season on Dec. 3 at the Commonwealth College Opener and registered seven event wins along with 12 personal best performances.
• The Cards return to action Jan. 27-28 when they host the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.
• Louisville will host the ACC Indoor Championships from Feb. 23-25. The meet will mark the first time in school history that the Cardinals will host an ACC Championship track and field event.
 • The Cardinals return a total of five ACC indoor and outdoor champions and seven All-Americans between the indoor and outdoor seasons.

• Synclair Savage recently set a new school record in the long jump at last weekend's Cardinal Classic. She took home the bronze medal in the long jump at the ACC Indoor Championship and won the ACC outdoor long jump title.
• Aliyah Welter was an all-ACC honoree in the pole vault in the indoor season and earned the bronze medal at the ACC Outdoor Championship.
• Both Synclair Savage and Welter were outdoor All-Americans
• Head Coach Dale Cowper, who is in his 11th season at the helm, has helped the Cardinals tally 62 NCAA All-Americans and 59 conference champions as Louisville's head coach.Â
