Women's Golf Ready to Tee Off at Schooner Fall Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's golf team will continue its fall season at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla. at the Belmar Golf Club. The three-day tournament will take place from Sept. 24-26.
There will be 15 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament this weekend, which is hosted by the University of Oklahoma. Saturday and Sunday have shotgun starts at 10 am ET, with Monday's shotgun start at 9:30 am ET.
Along with the Cardinals, the 15-team field for the Schooner Fall Classic will include Baylor, Clemson, Florida State, Houston, Iowa State, Illinois, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas State, Tulsa, UTSA and Virginia Tech.
The lineup consists of five individuals, two of which are competing in their first tournament of the season. Sophomore Carmen Griffiths, graduate student Mairead Martin, sophomore Gabbi Bentancourt, senior Rylee Suttor, and graduate student Lauren Thibodeau will be representing the Cardinals this weekend.
The Cardinals placed 17th in the Cougar Classic on Sept. 12-13 with Griffiths finishing in a tie for 34th overall, shooting 2-over-par 215. Last season, her best tournament score was 2-over-par 218 in the Mason Rudolph Invitational. The Cougar Classic marks her career-best score in 54 rounds.
