Field Hockey Posts Program-Best GPA in Spring Semester

The University of Louisville field hockey team capped the spring semester with a program-best 3.827 team grade point average, leading all UofL teams for the second straight semester. The Cardinals' spring academic result marks the 23rd straight semester with a collective GPA of 3.0 or above dating back to the 2011 spring term.

Eight field hockey student-athletes posted a 4.0 GPA as Erica Cooper, Kelsey McCrudden, Sam Minrath, Filippa Niebuhr, Aimee Plumb, Caroline Pusey, India Reed and India Tremonti were named Dean's Scholars.
Additionally, all 22 student-athletes were named to the Athletic Director's Honor roll with a 3.0 mark in the spring semester.
Field hockey led the way for Louisville's 23 sports, posting a 3.827 team GPA during the fall, with baseball holding the highest team GPA of 3.428 on the men's side. Lacrosse led the way with nine student-athletes posting a perfect 4.0 on the women's side. The men were led by men's cross country/track and field's four.

In the most recent national graduation rates released by the NCAA, UofL student-athletes achieved a record 91 percent graduation rate to match the Cardinals' best mark in the Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Report.

Five Louisville athletic teams – men's and women's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf and volleyball – received public recognition through the NCAA Academic Performance Program for ranking in the top 10 percent in the 2015-19 most recent multiyear Academic Progress Rate scores, which measures academic eligibility, retention, and graduation for student-athletes. Fourteen UofL programs produced perfect APR scores for the most recent single-year figures.

The sixth-ranked Cardinals finished the 2021 season with a 16-4 overall record, matching a school record for wins Additionally, the Cardinals won the 2021 ACC regular season title after compiling a program-best 6-0 record in league play.
