Louisville Earns 31 Entries for NCAA East Region Preliminary Round
May 19, 2022 | Track & Field
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Louisville track and field team qualified 30 student-athletes for 31 entries to the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary Rounds, announced by NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee on Thursday. The regional meet will be held from May 25-28 at Indiana's Robert C. Haugh Complex in Bloomington, Ind.
Â
The field features the top-48 marks in each respective event, following injury or withdrawal, with the only exceptions being the top-24 times for relays and direct qualification for the top-24 in decathlon and heptathlon multi-events. Following the preliminaries, the top-12 event finishers from each region will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 8-11 in Eugene, Ore.
Â
The 31 entries and 30 athletes are the most in program history, surpassing the 30 entries that the Cardinals had in 2010 and 2011.
