Louisville set four outdoor school records in their regular season finale as host of the Clark Wood Invitational. Gabriela Leon earned ACC Women's Co-Field Performer of the Week honors with a women's outdoor pole vault record of 4.61m (15-1.5). The mark ranks first in the ACC, second nationally, the second-best all-time ACC women's outdoor pole vault mark and eighth-best all-time outdoor performer mark in collegiate history. Sean Roth broke the men's outdoor pole vault record with a height of 5.23m (17-1.75). The third and fourth school records fell on the track as the women's 4x100-meter team of Synclair Savage, Taylor Herbert, Je'Nyia Burton and Kiyah Yeast clocked a program best time of 44.91 seconds, while Sterling Warner-Savage reset the men's 100-meter school record when he posted a time of 10.30 seconds in the preliminaries.
Seven Cardinals rank in the ACC's top-three in their respective events. Leon and Savage are at the top of the women's pole vault and women's long jump, while Katie Martin stands third in the women's 400-meter hurdles. Louisville also owns the top spots in the men's and women's high jump. Trey Allen and Luke Nichols hold the top two marks on the men's side, while Emily Scott claims the top women's height. Cade Richeson stands third in the men's shot put, while Roth ranks third in the men's pole vault.
The program is looking for its first ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships title since joining the conference in 2015. The men's team earned a top-finish of fourth in 2018, while the women's posted a best fifth-place finish in the same season. Louisville looks to improve on its 13 All-ACC selections in 2021.
