Louisville Claims Four Events Wins on Day One of Clark Wood Invitational

Katherine Coffey and Tiana Bazie earned top-three finishes in the women's hammer throw. Coffey secured the first event win of the afternoon for the Cardinals with a personal-best mark of 56.01m (183-9), while Bazie recorded a throw of 55.21m (181-1) for third.

Jeremiah Willis and Synclair Savage clamied first-place finishes as the Cardinals swept the long jump events for the second time this season. Willis recorded his fourth event win in five meets with an outdoor personal-best clearance of 7.73m (25-4.5) on his final attempt, while Savage followed up her record setting performance last weekend with a first-place mark of 6.17m (20-3).

Adar Sheere secured his fourth event win of the season with a mark of 55.31m (181-5), while Jorge Contreras finished second at 53.54m (175-8) in the men's discus throw. Bryan Hudson recorded a heave of 53.31m (174-11) for third as the Cardinals swept the top-three spots.

A total of 16 athletes tied or achieved personal best marks in their respective events.

Competition resumes Saturday with the men's javelin at 10:15 a.m. ET. The first track event is scheduled to start following the national anthem and senior day ceremonies with the women's 100-meter hurdles preliminaries at 12:30 p.m. ET. The men's pole vault team of Zach Frye, Paul Kallenberg, Ty McPhail and Sean Roth will be the first Cardinals to compete in the field at 11:00 a.m. ET, while Taylor Herbert will toe the line first on the track in the women's 100-meter preliminaries at 12:55 p.m. ET. The meet closes out with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 4:25 p.m. ET.
