
Cards Stand at No. 25 in ITA Team Rankings

The University of Louisville men's tennis team stands at No. 25 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings released on April 27. This marks the fourth straight week in the top 25. Louisville reached its highest national team ranking of the season at No. 23 on April 20. Additionally, junior Etienne Donnet moves up two spots to No. 99 in the ITA singles rankings.
The Cardinals (19-8) will learn their NCAA championship fate on Monday at 6 p.m. when the bracket is released on NCAA.com.
ABOUT LOUISVILLE
• The Cardinals reached the semifinals of the ACC Men's Tennis Championship for the first time since joining the league in 2015.
• Louisville's 19 wins are the most for the team since the 2017 squad went 22-10.
• The Cardinals earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament after compiling a 9-3 record ACC play.
• The nine wins in ACC play are the most for Louisville since the program joined the ACC for the 2014-15 season.
• The Cardinals stand at No. 25 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings (April 27), marking the fourth straight week in the top 25. Louisville reached its highest national team ranking of the season at No. 23 on April 20.

The Cardinals' top-seeded player (Lyon, France/Oklahoma State) carries a 16-10 overall record and is 14-9 in dual matches at the No. 1 spot. Senior David Mizrahi (New York, N.Y.) leads the team with a 22-11 overall record and is 17-5 in dual match play while splitting time between No. 5 and 6.

• Louisville will be making is 13th NCAA appearance and the first since 2017 when the Cardinals advanced to the regional final before falling to host Ohio State.
HEAD COACH RODRIGO DA SILVA
• Head coach Rodrigo da Silva is in his third season at the helm, taking over prior to the fall of the 2019-20 season.
• He made his return to UofL where he spent six years (2009-14) as an assistant coach, helping guide the Cardinals to three BIG EAST Conference tournament titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances.
• In his first year as Louisville's head coach, da Silva helped guide Tin Chen become the first player in school history to capture the ITA Ohio Valley Singles title. Louisville had registered a 9-6 overall record prior to the cancellation of the 2020 campaign due to COVID-19.
• The 2020-21 campaign saw the NCAA fall season canceled and several dual matches canceled or impacted by COVID-19 guidelines. The Cardinals earned nine wins and appeared in the ITA Top 60 rankings five times, reaching as high as No. 49 and finishing the season at 51. Additionally, Louisville placed three singles players: Tin Chen, Fabien Salle and Sergio Hernandez, and two doubles teams: Salle/Matthew Fung and Hernandez/Chen in the ITA singles rankings. Salle and Hernandez earned All-ACC honors at the end of the season.
