Cardinals Set to Face No. 3 NC State and No. 24 Wake Forest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team closes out its regular season this weekend, when the Cardinals travel to face a pair of top-25 conference foes in No. 3 NC State and No. 24 Wake Forest.
The Cardinals will face NC State on Friday at 4 p.m. and will battle Wake Forest on Sunday at noon.
Louisville (8-12, 0-11 ACC) is coming off a 7-0 defeat at the hands of then No. 8 Miami last Sunday. Tatiana Simova leads the Cardinals in singles play with 10 wins. The pairings of Simova and Andrea Di Palma and Chelsea Sawyer and Dina Chaika lead the team with 10 wins in doubles competition. Head coach Mark Beckham is in his 14th season at the helm.
No. 3 NC State (20-4, 8-3 ACC) fell 4-3 in a close match to then No. 14 Virginia over the weekend. The Wolfpack have dropped three of their last four matches. The team has four players in the latest ITA singles rankings led by Jaeda Daniel at No. 11. Daniel and Nell Miller lead the team in doubles with 17 wins and a top-10 ranking at No. 3. Head coach Simon Earnshaw is in his eighth season for NC State.
No. 24 Wake Forest (13-9, 5-6 ACC) defeated Virginia Tech 5-2 on the road last Sunday. Casie Wooten has a team-high 23 wins in singles and Carolyn Campana is No. 37 in the latest ITA singles rankings. Anna Brylin and Brooke Killingsworth are No. 8 in the latest ITA doubles rankings and have won 18 doubles matches. Head coach Jeff Wyshner is in his 12th season at the helm.
