Louisville heads to Wake Forest as ACC wraps its regular season slate

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 7-0 to the No. 3 NC State Wolfpack today in Raleigh at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point as the No. 3-ranked pair from NC State, Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller rolled Rhea Verma and Andrea Di Palma 6-1. UofL's Dina Chaika and Chelsea Sawyer fell 6-0 at No. 3 to give the Wolfpack a 1-0 lead going into singles.

The Cardinals had three of their singles matches go three sets with Rhea Verma taking No. 40-ranked Abigail Rencheli to three sets before falling 3-6, 6-3, 10-5. Chelsea Sawyer went three sets before falling 6-1, 5-7, 10-6 at the No. 3 slot. And freshman Tyra Richardson fell 6-2, 4-7, 10-7 in a valiant battle at No. 6.

Louisville heads over to Winston-Salem to take on No. 24 Wake Forest (13-9, 5-6 ACC) on Sunday at noon. The Deacons defeated Virginia Tech 5-2 on the road last Sunday. Casie Wooten has a team-high 23 wins in singles and Carolyn Campana is No. 37 in the latest ITA singles rankings. Anna Brylin and Brooke Killingsworth are No. 8 in the latest ITA doubles rankings and have won 18 doubles matches.
