Cardinals Fall to No. 8 Miami

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 8 Miami at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
Miami got off to a quick start in doubles, winning 6-2 at the No. 1 and 2 spots to clinch the doubles point. Tatiana Simova and Tyra Richardson held a 5-3 lead over Isabella Pfennig and Audrey Boch-Collins before the point was clinched.
In singles, Miami quickly extended its lead to 3-0 after recording wins at the No. 3 and No. 6 spots. Chelsea Sawyer gave Miami's No. 20 Daevenia Achong all she could handle at the No. 1 spot but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-3. The Hurricanes took the remaining matches on courts 1 and 5 to clinch the 7-0 win.
The Cardinals fall to 8-12 (0-11 ACC) with the loss.
Up next, Louisville hits the road to wrap up the regular season at NC State on Friday at 4 p.m. and Wake Forest on Sunday at noon.
