LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's team fell 5-2 to Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

Notre Dame took the first doubles match before the pair of Andrea Di Palma and Tatiana Simova defeated Julia Andreach and Meghan Coleman 6-3 on Court 2 to even things up. The Fighting Irish won 6-4 on Court 1 to clinch the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead in the match.

Notre Dame won four of the six singles matches to win the match 5-2 with the two Cardinals' wins coming from Chelsea Sawyer and Tyra Richardson. Sawyer defeated Nibedita Ghosh 6-1, 6-3 to record her third straight singles victory and Richardson bested Meghan Coleman 6-2, 5-7, 10-7.

Louisville falls to 7-4 (0-3 ACC) with the loss and Notre Dame improves to 8-5 (1-2 ACC) with the win.

Up next, the Cardinals will hit the road for the first time in almost a month when they travel to Georgia Tech on Mar. 11 at 5 p.m. and Clemson at Mar. 13 at noon.
